| In the days leading up to the Obama administration, a group of private sector TechAmerica member companies renamed the public sector “Software as a Service” Committee to “Cloud Computing” and worked furiously on a transition paper to submit to the Technology, Innovation and Government Reform (TIGR) transition team. The committee’s collective vision aligned with the administration’s commitment to reform and transparency, which was embodied in the 2008 Technology and Innovation Plan. The committee hoped this new model of IT could be adopted quickly, and that the government would benefit more quickly from the economy, governance, innovation, energy efficiency, and competitiveness the evolving Cloud would provide. |
