| In the U.S. CIO’s 25-Point agenda to reform federal IT systems, federal agencies are directed to move three systems to the Cloud in very short order. Many of my clients who are marching under these orders often wonder, “Is the Cloud another buzzword for web technologies or is it something more?” or “What’s different about technologies before and after the advent of the Cloud?” |

| In our rapid march toward a “cloudy” government, we must quickly identify, evaluate, and mitigate the unique risks presented by moving systems to the Cloud. Although GSA continues to work hard to reduce each federal agency’s security burden by way of Authorizing and Assessing (A&A) Cloud Service Providers through FedRAMP – the FedRAMP program still remains under development. In the meantime, agencies must have three systems migrated to the cloud within the next 18 months. |
